(26 APR 1947) Last Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Miss Melva Jean White, daughter of James White, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Harold Oliver Hendrickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hendrickson, Greenwood, pledged their marriage vows at a double ring service read in the Loyal Methodist Church. The Rev. Lee H. Holmes officiated. Bouquets of cut flowers decorated the altar for the occasion and Mrs. Henry Olson sand “Because” and “I Love You Truly,” accompanied by Mrs. Arnold Wicklund. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Oril Swieso, Rockford, Ill., Miss Elaine White, Neillsville, the bride’s sister, and George White, greenwood, a cousin. The Swiesos are cousins of both the bride and the groom. The bride wore an entrained white taffeta and marquisette gown and a fingertip veil of illusion caught to a headdress of seed pearls and rhinestones. Her necklace was a gift from the groom and she carried white lilies and red roses tied with satin streamers. Both the matron of honor and the bridesmaid wore white organdy frocks and held red roses. Following the ceremony at 7 o’clock dinner and reception for 50 guests were held at the Turco Café in Greenwood. A three-tier wedding cake topped with miniature bride and groom ornament centered the table. Mrs. Hendrickson was graduated from the Greenwood High School with the class of 1946. Mr. Hendrickson is engaged in farming and he and his bride will reside on route 4 near Greenwood. |
