Thurs., 13 June 1940 ------Selves, Edna Mary (Marriage – 5 June 1940) Miss Edna Mary Selves of the town of Grant and Erwin G. Sternitzky of Lynn Township were united in marriage Wednesday, June 5, in an evening service performed by Rev. Arthur H. Laesch. The bride wore a floor-length gown of white satin. A tulle veil, held by a beaded headdress and a bouquet of calla lilies completed the bride ensemble. Mrs. William Hintz of Marshfield, a sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of green taffeta, a shoulder corsage and a tiara head dress of pink and white flowers. The bride’s twin sisters, Ruby and Ruth Selves, were bridesmaids. They wore peach net over taffeta, identically styled, and shoulder corsage. The groom was attended by William Hintz, Marshfield, and Otto Sternitzky and Armin Moh of Granton. The music consisted of instrumental numbers by Richard Hillert, a cousin of the groom, Mrs. A. H. Laesch sing, “Oh Perfect Love.” A reception, to which 100 guests were invited, was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Selves. Pink and white streamers, white wedding bells and cut flowers served as the home decorations. The wedding cake was decorated by Mrs. James West. Mrs. Sternitzy attended Neillsville high school and the Central State Teachers college, Stevens Pint. During her six years of teaching experience she became one of the most valuable rural school instructors in the county. The groom is a young farmer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sternitzky of Granton, rural route two, upon whose farm the couple will be at home. They took a week’s wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and Michigan. Among the out-of-town guests were: Mrs. Norman Douyette and daughter, Donna Marie, Minocqua; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Hillert, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Hintz, Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz, Humbird.
