Miss Lois O. Franke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Franke of Unity, became bride of Clifford E. Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Carlson of Unity, in a ceremony read at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Saturday, Jan. 22 at 1 p.m. by the Rev. M. C. Goetsch.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father wore a princess style gown of white brocaded satin designed with long puffed sleeves and closed at the back with a row of tiny satin covered buttons. Her jewelry consisted of a moonstone necklace, a gift of the groom. Her fingertip veil fell from a sweetheart headband in her bouquet were white and yellow chrysanthemums and calla lilies, tied with a lily of the valley ribbon.

Mrs. Mildred Sanger of Chili, cousin of the bride was maid of honor, wearing a deep rose gown with sweetheart neckline. She wore a locket, a gift of the bride. Miss Sanger held a bouquet of yellow and white chrysanthemums.

Marvin Carlsen, brother of the bridegroom was best man. Both wore boutonnieres of white chrysanthemums and fine ferns.

After the ceremony a dinner and reception were given at the home of the bride’s parents.

Among the guests were Frank Gardner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Loed and son, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner and famiy, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brinckmeier, Mr. and Mrs. George Fliegel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kleinschmidt and family, and Herbert Fenske, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gaulke, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sanger and family, and Oscar Franke, all of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Carlson and family, Oscar Carlson, Wilifred Atcherson, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Melle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Herner, Mrs. Ida Ewert and family, and Mrs. Dela Ewert, all of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. William Pilozenski of Loyal; and Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Goetsch of Colby.

The bride and groom are both graduates of the Unity high school and have been formerly employed at Columbus.

After Feb. 1 the couple will make their home on a farm at Fall River.
