----- Plautz, Mary (19 MAR 1880 – 11 APR 1948)

Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) – Mrs. Mary Plautz, 68, a resident of Willard the past 49 years, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been taken earlier in the day by ambulance after suffering a stroke Sunday morning.

The body will lie in state at the Plautz home, 8 miles west of Greenwood, until the time of funeral services, which are scheduled tentatively for Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Fr. Michaels will officiate at the Requiem High Mass and interment will be made in Holy Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Plautz was born in Yugoslavia March 19, 1880, and was married in Michigan in 1900 to Steve Plautz, who died Oct. 11, 1926. In 1909 the Plautzes came from Calumet, Mich., to settle on their present farm on route 1, Willard.

Surviving are seven sons, Steve, John, Joseph, Frank, Mike and George Plautz, all of Willard, and Emil Plautz, at home, and six daughters, Mrs. George (Angeline) Kugi, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leo (Helen) Albright, Wausau; and Mrs. John (Mary) Zallar, Mrs. Martin (Ann) Kokaly, Mrs. Martin (Sophie) Matkovich, and Mrs. Frank (Rose) Pakiz, all of Willard.

Also surviving are 1 grandchildren, two sisters in Ohio, one sister in Europe, two brothers in Canada, and a brother in Chicago.
