SKATERS PROMISED RINK

The icy streets have been the playgrounds for children the past week and a half. Sliding and skating on the streets have been seen in the daylight hours and after dark.

The children have been promised a skating rink and with the cooperation of the village, school, Commercial Club and the weatherman, a skating rink should soon materialize.

COMMUNITY TREE PLACED IN FRONT OF THE ARMORY

The gay lights and evergreen boughs festooned across the street are absent from Abbotsford this holiday season. However, there is a community tree in front of the armory.

Some of the store windows have been attractively decorated with winter scenes, holiday merchandise and the never changing Santa Claus.

Busy shoppers, excited children’s voices and the arrival of extra mail bags with greeting cards and packages are unmistakable signs that Christmas will soon be there.

Stores Open Evenings Week Before Christmas

Shopping days before Christmas are getting fewer. Make your selections when in the village, Saturday, if possible. But for those who must depend upon the last week, the merchant’s will keep their stores open in the evening. Starting Saturday, Dec. 16, and including Saturday, Dec. 23, you will find the stores open every evening for your shopping convenience.
