NECKER ANSWERS IN REGARDS TO ASSAULT CASE

The case of assault and battery with intent to do great bodily injury which was tried in Circuit Court at Neillsville, December term, in which Henry Necker being the plaintiff and the Wesley Kauffman and family were named as defendants, resulted in finding the same guilty and imposing a fine on the defendants.

On Oct. 27, Mr. Necker went to his farm near Curtiss to do some plowing. This farm had recently been deeded back to Necker, as the Kauffman’s failed to pay their mortgage on the same. This fact angered the defendants and promised to get even, so they came to the farm on the day prepared for trouble, as testimony was shown. They threw pepper in Necker’s eyes, expecting to blind him and then hit him with a heavy hammer inflicting a severe bruise.

This article is being inserted in this week’s issue in fairness to what was placed in this paper last week by Mr. Kauffman.
