Thurs., 18 July 1940 -----Pietenpol, Rebecca Maria (6 July 1870 – 10 July 1940) Mrs. Henry Pietenpol passed away at a Marshfield hospital at 8 o’clock Wednesday night, July 10, where she had been a patient for four weeks, following a major operation. Rebecca Maria Allen was born in the town of York on July 6, 1870, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Allen. Here she grew to womanhood, and on November 17, 1886, she was married to Henry J. Pietenpol. They took up residence on a tract of land which has been their home for 54 years. In girlhood she united with the Seventh Day Adventist church. She was also a charter member of the Willing Workers Club and of the Union Church Circle. Mr. and Mrs. Pietenpol celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in November, 1936. Mrs. Pietenpol is survived by her husband, Henry J. Pietenpol; one son, Floyd, of Granton; three daughter, Mrs. Vera Kidd of Granton, Mrs. Hattie Berg of Schoefield and Mrs. John (Beatrice) Salzer of Wausau; 11 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. George (Martha) Miller, of Granger, Wash. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Adventist church on Windfall Corners, with Eider Michael Einco of Bethel as clergyman. Pallbearers were: Albert Mabie, Frank Lavey, Truman Davis, Bert Hayden, Arthur Phipps and Gust Bergemann. A quartette, consisting of Mrs. Albert Mabie, Mrs. Gertrude Holmes, Kearney Davis and George Wilson, with Mrs. Kearney Davis at the organ, sang “Meet Me There,” “Rock of Ages” and “Wait and Murmur Not.” Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
