A very pretty wedding was solemnized on Saturday evening, Feb. 26, 1916, when Walter Acker, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. August Acker of West Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.) was joined in marriage to Miss Alice Richeleu at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride dressed in white wearing a bridal veil and carrying a bouquet of white flowers which looked very pretty. She was attended by two bridesmaids, her sister, Miss Margaret, and Miss Gertrude Acker, sister of the groom, while the groom was attended by his two brothers Paul and Edward. The couple were united under a large green arch from which hung several bells erected in the front room of the home for the purpose. After the ceremony which was performed by Pastor S.R. Dunlop of Greenwood and the usual congratulations the guests, which included all the immediate members of the two families and Miss Baker, sat down to a very appetizing supper prepared by the bride’s mother in her usual good style after which some time was spent in enjoying themselves and as the guests were about to leave they were again entertained to a generous helping of ice cream and cake. The young couple will go to their new home which the groom has just erected on his farm and will be there to receive the congratulations of friends. The groom is well known and popular among his circle of friends. The bride is also well known, having lived in this locality since childhood, and was for some time employed in the Farmers Store in our city. The many gifts received speak of the esteem in which our young couple are held in the community and all join in wishing them a long and unbroken fellowship together.
