BioM: Kampine, Maybelle (Marriage - 1918)
Surnames: BORNHOFEN KAMPINE Source: CLARK COUNTY REPUBLICAN & PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 10/31/1918 Kampine, Maybelle (Marriage - 22 OCT 1918) Mr. John Bornhofen and Miss Maybelle Kampine were quietly married Oct. 22, 1918 at our Lady of Louvers Church in Marinette, Rev. Fr. Tulley officiating. On account of the influenza the wedding was private. The bride's sister, Miss Esther Kampine, acted as bridesmaid, and her sister, Miss Mildred, was maid of honor; her brothers, Len and Clifford Kampine, attended the groom. The rooms were appropriately decorated for the occasion. The bride wore a blue velvet suit and a large hat; the bridesmaid and maid of honor also wore suits. They all wore corsage bouquets of Killarney roses. The groom is the son of Mrs. Susie Bornhofen and is one of Neillsville, Clark County, Wisconsin's best young men. He has a fine education, a high character and personal qualities which entitle him to rank as a man of the best citizenship. He has a responsible position at the Oatman Condensed milk plant. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Kampine, who formerly lived here and are now residing at Marinette. She is a young lady of lovable disposition, rare personal beauty and social qualities which make her many friends. She graduated from the Neillsville High school in the class of 1916 and has since taught school successfully in Marinette County. The young couple is at home at the Bornhofen residence. We join with their many friends in extending hearty congratulations and best wishes. |
