Crothers and Miss Mildred Kintzele were quietly married Friday evening, Aug. 22, 1919, at the farm home of the bride's father, Mr. John P. Kintzele, in the town of York, Clark County, Wis., Rev Wilson Mallory officiating. The wedding was entirely a home affair, only the families of the bride and groom being present. The bride was attended by her cousins, Miss Gertrude Oehler of Milwaukee, and Miss Neva Leach of Grand Rapids; the bridegroom's brother, Donald H. Crothers, and the bride's brother, Harland Kintzele, acted as groomsmen. After the ceremony refreshments were served by Mrs. Emma Bolton, housekeeper at the farm, nad the young couple took the midnight train at Granton for a trip to Milwaukee and a few days camping. The bride is the only daughter of John P. Kintzele, Register of Deeds; she spent her childhood days at the home on the farm, attended country school and Granton school, graduated from Neillsville High School in the class of 1914, and for a time attended the art school in Milwaukee. For some time past she has looked after the household affairs at the home in Neillsville, and assisted her father in the office, being Deputy Register of Deeds. We are quite convinced that our good opinion of the bride is entirely justifiable, and that it is shared in by all who know her. The bridegroom is the younger son of the editor of this paper and his wife. He was born and grew to manhood here, attending Neillsville school and graduating from the Short Course in Agriculture at the State University. He enlisted in Nov. 1917 and served in the aviation until discharged in Jan. 1919. His chief interest has always been in the farm. After about twenty-four years of work and play together the writer feels satisfied that Wendell is a right good fellow, and his mother and myself are entirely joyful in giving to him and his bonnie bride our parental blessing. |
