Alexander, Katharine (Marriage - 23 JAN 1920)

That portion of our population which prides itself on knowing thing before they happen or soon after, got a mild jolt last week by the fact becoming public that Mr. C. S. Stockwell and Miss Katharine Alexander had been quietly married at Crown Point, Ind. On jan. 23, 1920. This somewhat belated announcement, however, will not in the least prevent the hearty congratulations of their many friends. There are probably no two people of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. who have a wider range of friendships than Mr. and Mrs. Stockwell. For many years Mr. Stockwell was Clerk of the Court in this county and has been identified with many public movements. He is very prominent in Masonic circles and for some time past has held the position of Grand Lecturer, which has taken him into most of the lodge rooms of the state. His wife, who is the daughter of Mrs. T. M. Alexander, has also a wide acquaintance. While making her home here, she has, in her work as a milliner, been engaged in other places. For some time past she spent the the Spring and Fall millinery seasons at Marshalltown, Iowa, where she plans to finish the present season. Mr. Stockwell will continue his lodge work, which will take him till early summer, and they then plan a trip to the east, and will later spend some time in Northern Wisconsin among the lakes. They will probably make their permanent home in Neillsville.

It is the opinion of the writer that the future cannot bring anything of good to Mr. and Mrs. Stockwell, which they do not richly deserve. Our hope is that they may have the best the world has to offer.
