Horesovsky, 91, Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, and for one hour prior to 11 a.m. funeral services on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Burial will be in the Hatfield Cemetery. Milada Anna Vonka was born on July 26, 1911, in Dresden, Germany, to Jan Josef and Ruzena (nee Motysova) Vonka. She attended and graduated from primary, secondary, and postsecondary schools in Germany. She moved to Czechoslovakia and worked as a teacher and translator prior to her marriage to Bohumil Rudolf Horesovsky, who worked for the Czech Foreign Ministry in the diplomatic corps. She arrived in the United States on Nov. 11, 1947. She was a lifelong naturalist who was interested in birds, animals, mushrooms and the Wisconsin forests and moraines. Survivors include one son, Robert Rudolph (Martha Louise) Horesovsky, Lake City, Fla.; three grandchildren, Melissa (Daniel) Hartley, Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Richard Horesovsky, Crested Butte, Colo., and Angela Evans (Tim Anger), Kissimmee, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Julian Evans, Emily Hartley and Caroline Hartley. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, in 1990; and one son, Jan, in 1958. The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements. |
