Madsen, Mary (24 JUN 1936)

A beautiful wedding ceremony took place Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Mary Madsen became the bride of Edward Muranko.

The ceremony took place at the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), the Rev. Mikkelsen officiating. The bride entered the church with her father to the strains of Lohengrin, with Miss Theresa Marking at the organ. “I Love You Truly” was sung by the Marking sisters and “O Promise Me” by Miss Geneva Marking.

The bride was attired in a white satin wedding gown floor length. From a close fitting cap of seed pears, a beautiful veil completed the train. She carried white peonies. The bride was attended by Mrs. Peter Madsen, as matron of honor, who was attired in pink and tulle, and a pink picture hat. She carried pink peonies. Miss Helen Muranko and Mrs. Gene Zaver, bridesmaids, were dressed alike in gowns of yellow net, and net hats. They also carried pink peonies. Miss Lois Madsen was flower girl and Master Jerry Madsen was ring bearer. Both were dressed in white.

The groom was attended by Peter Madsen, best man, and Gene Zaver and Nels Stockholm, ushers. The church was decorated with summer flowers and white streamers and made a beautiful setting for the group.

A 6:30 reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Covers were laid for 60 guests, immediate relatives and friends. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the home with bells, streamers and peonies.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Zaver of Chicago, Miss Helen Muranko and Ed Venet of Winnetka, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jensen of Eau Claire.

After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Muranko will make their home in Owen. Their many friends wish them much happiness.
