Surnames: RASMUSSEN MERTENS MESSLING OTT Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 04/08/1937 Rasmussen, Hilda (3 APR 1937) Miss Hilda Rasmussen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marius Rasmussen of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Joseph Mertens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mertens on Saturday afternoon, April 3, 1937, at 2 o’clock. The wedding took place at the home of the bride’s parents. Rev. P.F. Pfaffman performed the ceremony. The bride wore a gown of white satin with a veil fastened by a halo of white roses. She carried a bouquet of roses, carnations, and baby breath. Her attendants, Miss Christie Rasmussen, maid of honor, and Miss Merle Ott, bridesmaid, both wore gowns of coral taffeta, and a corsage of sweet peas. The groom was attended by Raymond Messling of Withee. In the evening a 7 o’clock dinner was served to the members of the immediate families at the home of the bride’s parents, and was followed by a dance held at the Merry Ol’ Gardens. The newly married couple will reside on a farm near Withee, where Mr. Mertens is employed by his father. |
