Francel, Hannah Pauline (Marriage – 19 Oct. 1940)

At a ten o’clock nuptial mass, which was held Saturday morning, October 19, at Holy Family Church at Willard, Miss Hannah Pauline Francel, 1606 N. Ogden Avenue, Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fracel, Willard, became the bride of Anton Joseph Kokaly, 9423 Ewing Avenue, Chicago, son of M r. and Mrs. Frank Kokaly, Willard.

The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Novak. During the mass, St. Mary’s choir sang appropriate selections. The bride was given away by her bride. She wore a white satin ankle length gown, princess style, with sweetheart neckline, trimmed in seed pearls, her sleeves coming to a point over the hands and satin covered buttons, from the neckline to the waist, trimmed the back of the dress. Her long tulle veil was edged in Chantilly lace, which fell from a tiara headdress of rhinestones. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, asters and chrysanthemums, her only jewel being a pearl necklace.

Miss Hedwig Francel, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of raisin colored taffeta with matching headdress, and carried a bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums. Misses Theresa, Pauline and Josephine Francel, sisters of the bride, and Miss Ann Kokaly, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. They were dressed in identical gowns of deep rose taffeta and veil blushers with wreaths to match. They carried large bouquets of pink and white chrysanthemums.

Patricia Jean Schnaitman and Barbara Ann Koschak, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore floor length dresses of deep blue with little pancake hats of blue net to match. They carried bouquets of chrysanthemums.

Rudolph Kokaly, brother of the groom, served as best man, and Martin and Darwin Kokaly, brothers of the groom, and John Francel, brother of the bride, served as ushers. They all wore suits of navy blue.

Following the ceremony at the church, 100 guests attended a breakfast and dinner at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated in pink, blue and white streamers, with a large white wedding bell at the center of the room. The three tier wedding cake was baked by Miss Frances Lesar.

The bride has been employed at Bloom’s restaurant in Chicago for the past ten years, the groom being employed at the Inland Glass factory in that city. They will be at home to their friends at 1606 N. Ogden Avenue, Chicago, after November one.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schnaitman and son, Francis, Mrs. Pete Reading and Miss Mary Francel, Evanston, Ill.; Misses Mary and Matilda Kokaly and Lambert Butzen, Chicago; Miss Avis Kokaly, Eau Claire; Miss Emily Kokaly, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Francel, Jr., and children, Abbotsford; Miss Marie Kunce, Neillsville, and Miss Sylvia Kokaly, Greenwood.

A wedding dance was held at the Willard hall in the evening.
