Peaslee, Lida J. (Marriage – 22 Nov. 1940)

Miss Lida J. Peaslee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Peaslee, Neillsville, and Norman W. Kuhl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kuhl, also of this city, were united in marriage at the Duncansville (Pa.) Lutheran Church Saturday, November 22, in the presence of a few relatives and friends.

Mrs. Herman Kuhl of Eau Claire was matron of honor. Mr. Kuhl, the bridegroom’s uncle, served as best man. The bride wore a gown of white satin, princess style, with long tapering sleeves and a full skirt which flared to form a sweeping train. A finger-tip veil of tulle fell from a coronet, her bouquet being a combination of pink roses and baby’s breath. Her attendant was gowned in black velvet with black accessories. She wore a corsage of yellow rosebuds and baby’s breath. The chancel was decorated with ferns, and the brass altar vases holding bouquets of white lilies and gladioli.

Mrs. John H. Robertson presided at the console of the organ. “Loves Old Sweet Song” and “Sweetest Story Ever Told” were played preceding the entrance of the bridal party. The wedding chorus and the recessional was the Mendelssohn composition. Rev. G. B. Harman officiated at a double-ring ceremony.

The bridegroom is employed in Pennsylvania by the Eau Claire Engineering company in an official capacity. He has been a resident of Duncansville for the past several months while working on an underpass construction job near there. He is a graduate of the Neillsville high school, class of 1933, the bride being graduated from the Greenwood High School in 1935.

A reception was held at the Capitol hotel at Hollidaysburg following the ceremony. Upon their return from a wedding trip to eastern cities they planned to make their home at 1317 Third Avenue, Duncansville, until his work there is competed.
