Alperstett, Rev. A.E. Norson officiated at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with red roses, lavender and white iris. Mrs. Don Warner played Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and accompanied Mrs. Louis Behrens who sang “Because” and “Crown With Thy Benediction.” The bride chose for her gown a white organza made with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and a train trimmed with lace inserts. A tiara of seed pearls held her long veil. She also wore a three-strand pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli, sweet peas and swansonia. She was attended by her sister, Miss Verle Gordee and Miss Carol Bringe. Miss Gordee wore a gown of blue organza with matching net bonnet and a shoulder corsage of pink gladioli. Miss Bringe wore a similar ensemble in pink and her corsage was white gladioli. The groom was attended by Earl Gordee, brother of the bride, and Edward Braun, cousin of the groom. Sixty-five guests were entertained at a 5:30 supper at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers and baskets of flowers. A three tiered wedding cake centered the table. The bride and groom are graduates of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1939, and Mrs. Alperstett is also a graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers College and for the past three years has taught school.
