Stabnow, Theresa J. (2 JUL 1944)

A very pretty wedding took place at Oklahoma City, Okla. On July 2, 1944, at seven o’clock when Sgt. Theresa Jeanette Stabnow, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Stabnow, Mellen, Wis., became the bride of Lt. Bill Hitch, Amarillo, Texas.

The wedding was solemnized in the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Sm. Cook officiating. Lt. Erne Hite, commanding officer of the Wac’s gave the bride away. The bride wore the new Wac off duty uniform of Beige white shanting with a corsage of orchids and the groom wore a late Kacki uniform.

The bride is stationed at the W.A.C. recruiting office in Tulsa, Okla., while the groom is an officer at the rehabilitation camp some forty miles distant.

They took a short honeymoon trip to Amarillo, Texas to visit his parents and to see the new home where they will live when the war is won.

The bride is the oldest granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Stabnow and spent most of her childhood here (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.).

The Gleaner joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many years of happy married life.
