Thurs., 8 May 1941 Korth, Margaret Louise (Marriage – May Day 1941) Just preceding the twilight hour on May Day, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Korth was the scene of a lovely spring wedding when their daughter, Margaret Louise, became the bride of Arnold James Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hoffman, Wabasso, Minn. The Rev. Wilson Bixler of Neillsville performed the ceremony. The decorations were blue and white streamers and wild flowers. The bride wore a light blue street-length dress with three-quarter-length sleeves. She carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Arlene Beyer, wore blush pink, her flowers being pink roses. Elmer Hoffman served as best man. An impressive part of the service was the playing of the wedding march from “Lohengrin” by the bride’s mother. She also accompanied Mrs. Marie Ott, who sang “Oh Perfect Love.” About 20 relatives and immediate friends partook of the supper which followed the rites. The bride attended Neillsville high school. Since then she has been busily engaged in domestic service in the home of her parents and for others. This experience has no doubt fitted her for the duties of home making and the care of a new house which she and her husband plan to build at Wabasso, Minn., where the groom is engaged in farming. Out-of-town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hoffman and son, Elmer, and Miss Arlene Beyer of Wabasso; William Schrank, Lake Mills; Mrs. Albert Lueck and son, William, Mr. and Mrs. William Korth and son, Louis, and Rev. and Mrs. Wilson Bixler and son, John. On Thursday evening a large crowd of friends and neighbors took part in a charivari for the young people, adjourning to the Herman Scharf home for refreshments. On Sunday evening there was a large shower for them. On Saturday evening they were supper guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Wilson Bixler in Neillsville, and on Monday they left for their home at Wabasso, Minn.
