Mrs. Dorothy Carlisle Hogan of Gainesville, Georgia, and Bernard Schroeder, Neillsville, were united in marriage at the Baptist church at Gainesville, at 6:30 p.m. May 3, Rev. C. E. Vaughan performing the rites.

The bride’s niece, Mrs. R. G. Smith, Jr., and her husband attended the couple. Only the immediate relatives of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Parrett of Anderson, South Carolina, were in attendance.

After the ceremony, the wedding party drove to Atlanta, Ga., in three cars where a wedding dinner was served.

Mrs. Schroeder wore a powder blue redingote gown with hat to match and navy blue accessories.

Their wedding trip consisted of the journey to Neillsville, with stops at Augusta, Ga., where they visited the bride’s brother and sister, and at Milwaukee and Racine at the homes of Mr. Schroeder’s sisters.

Mrs. Schroeder is a graduate of the high school at Flowery Branch, Ga. She met Mr. Schroeder last summer while she and her daughter, Shirley Eulene, 5, spent four months with Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Horswill and other relatives in Neillsville.

Mr. Schroeder was graduated from the Neillsville High School. During the winter months he is employed with the American Stores Dairy Company, being grounds keeper at the Neillsville Country Club for the summer months.

A large number of relatives gathered at the Fred Schroeder home Sunday evening to surprise the couple with a dinner party and to present them with a monetary gift.

They will make their home at the Bartell apartment at 183 East Second Street.
