Nankivell, Robert Edmund (14 July 1884 – 1941)

Robert Edmund Nankivell, who died recently at the age of 56, was long a farmer in the town of Lynn. He moved to the Nankivell farm there in 1902, and continued farming until October 1, 1940, when he sold the place to Earl Meisner. He then moved to the home of Mrs. Erna Guk, where he lived until his death.

Mr. Nankivell was born July 4, 1884, at Iron Mountain, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nankivell, Sr. After the death of his mother in 1896, Robert, with his father and an aunt, moved to Hazel Green, Wis., and remained their for six years, prior to coming to Clark County.

Mr. Nankivell had been in pour health in recent years. He had submitted to two major operations, and had bee the victim of several heart attacks, the last of which caused his death.

Surviving are three half-brothers, James of Montana and Sam and William Cutlip of Iron Mountain, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Trutner, of Chicago.

Pallbearers were Edward Ott, William Wagner, Herman Gluch, Fred Franks, Alvin Voelker and Herbert Pusheck. Flower girls were Mae Ott, Lea Happe, Mrs. Victor Schlinkert and Mrs. Elmer Steffon.

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Miss Elinor Guk of Belvidere, Ill.; Miss Clara Guk of Westby; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Reisner of Milwaukee, and Herman Henning of Marshfield.

Those who sang were Charles Lindow, William Lindow, Henry Nebel and Roy Jennings, Mrs. Charles Lindow accompanied at the organ.

The funeral services, held at Granton were conducted by the Rev. A. G. Diemer, interment was in the Lynn Cemetery.
