Klann, Anton August (2 Aug. 1896 – 12 Oct. 1941)

Anton August Klann, born August second, 1896, in the town of Pine Valley, the son of August and Albertina Klann, passed away October 12, 1941, at 6:30 p.m. at Forest Grove, Oregon. He had been seriously ill for four weeks, followed by a stroke of paralysis on October 12 at 4:30 p.m.

He was married to Rose Skalink of Chicago November 15th, 1918. To this union three children were born: Lucille, La Verne, and William, all of Portland, Oregon.

Beside his wife and three children he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Albertina Klann, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Charles Schultz, Pine Valley; William Klann and Mrs. John Bartos?, Portage; Mrs. Fred Seif, Neillsville; Mrs. Albert Haynes, Chicago; and Herman and August Klann, Pine Valley.

Services were held on October 16th at four p.m. in the funeral chapel at Forest Grove. Rev. Wendeling, pastor of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of that city, of which he was a member, conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in the mausoleum in Portland.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: William Klann, sons, Victor and Norbert, and Mrs. John Bartos?, Portage; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seif and son, Franklin, Mrs. Albertina Klann and Mrs. Charles Schultz, Neillsville.
