Sauter, Agnes (17 JUN 1930)

Agnes Sauter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Sauter, northeast of the village (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.), and Alvah Messer, son of Ernest Messer of Unity, were united in marriage Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Catholic Parsonage by Rev. Paul Pitzenberger. The bridesmaids were: Anna Hennlich, Gladys Messer and Hazel Thompson of Athens, and the groom’s attendants were Louis, Ignatz and Martin Sauter, brothers of the bride.

The bride was beautifully attired in a formal white georgette gown and veil and carried a bouquet of roses, carnations and snapdragons. Anna Hennlich wore a beautiful yellow georgette gown, Gladys Messer a rose poiree, and Hazel Thompson a pink satin, and they all wore headbands and carried bouquets and with the dark suits of the men made a picture not soon forgotten.

A reception and dinner at five for the bridal party and friends was held at the Aug. Sauter home and a dance in their granary in the evening completed the day. The bride and groom are spending a two week honeymoon thru northern Wisconsin and Michigan, after which they will reside at Unity where the groom is a mail carrier.

The bride is a popular Dorchester girl, born and raised in Dorchester country, with a host of friends who wish her the best in life. The groom is not so well known but those who have met him liked him and we are sure Agnes wouldn’t pick anything but the best.

We all join in wishing them just heaps of joy and happiness thru life.

The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. Hagmann, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Miller, Sr., and son, Ray, of Park Ridge, Ill.; E. Messer, sons, Ansel and Myra of Unity; Mrs. Evans and children of Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phflum, Medford; Mrs. Mary Lueddecke of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. V. Marcotte, Otto Sauter and son, Earl of Phillips; and Mr. and Mrs. Ora Langteau of Chelsea.
