(29 Sept. 1932 – 6 Nov. 2005) Stanley Pogodzinski w/Flag Stanley J. Pogodzinski, age 73, of 104 Soderberg Dr., Thorp, Wis., passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Center in Marshfield, Wis. He was born in the Town of Thorp, Clark County, on September 29, 1932, the son of John and Rose (Krystofiak) Pogodzinski. He grew up in the area attending area schools and graduating from Thorp High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Seichter in September of 1956. They later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in Germany. After his discharge he returned to the Town of Thorp where he farmed until forced to retire due to a farm accident. Stanley enjoyed football, especially the Packers, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Sue (Troy) Kalis of Wells, Minn., Eugene (Michele) Pogodzinski of Thorp, Jeri-Ann Anderson (special friend Roger Ausman) of Eau Claire, Ken (Brenda) Pogodzinski of Withee, Chris (Jack) Wissell of Willard, Jim (Lyn) Pogodzinski, Dan Pogodzinski, Dolly (Pat) Bauer and Rick Pogodzinski, all four of Thorp; his grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron and Austin Pogodzinski, Heath and Ryan Anderson, Katie and Charlie Pogodzinski, Jacob and Chanda Bauer; and step grandchildren, Emerson and Aaron Kalis and Tali and Carly Frerichs. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Pogodzinski; two brothers, Walter and Adam (in infancy); and two sisters, Sophie Potaczek and Mary Potaczek. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Grandchildren are serving as pallbearers. Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
