Mrs. John Goessl died Wednesday, April 8, 1931, following a paralytic stroke and was buried Saturday morning, April 11 from the St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. P. Pitzenberger officiating, and John Schmitt, J.E. Aller, A. Nutter, Jos. Kronschnabl, Jos. ? and Theo. Decker acted as pallbearers, and the Christian Mothers, of which she was a member, attended as a body.

Anna Lang was born in Austria, Dec. 30, 1859, and was 71 years, 3 months and 8 days at the time of death. At the age of 6 years she came to the United States with her parents and they settled in the town of Gibson, Manitowoc Co., and there they lived until 1884 when they moved to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) country.

On July 7, 1884, she was united in marriage at Dorchester to John Goessl, and went to live on their farm a little over 5 miles west of town. One son, ??vin was born to them and there they lived happily together, doing what they could to make good in every way and not only thinking of themselves but of all those about them. In 1923 they sold the farm to their son and moved into the village where they have since resided.

For the past 2 years, Mrs. Goessl’s health was very poor for she suffered with diabetes and was obliged to be very careful in every way but she was bright and cheery about it as if it were a joke and always made you feel as if life was well worth living after talking with her. We shal miss her sadly for the sunshine of her smile and her cheery laugh is gone forever but she is just gone on where sickness and suffering will never mar her joy. May God comfort the bereaved one and may the thought that others loved her too, help them as well.

Those from away in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Goessl’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ca.??ohne of West Allis, her nieces, ? and Agnes Lang, niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. John Ottoson, ? Hoefner and Gerald Mulvanny, a friend though Gerald had been a member of the Goessl family in childhood, all of the above from Milwaukee; Mr. Goessl’s sister, Miss Mary Goessl and sister-in-law, Mrs. Chas. Goessl and nephew Jack, and Joseph …(the rest of the names I could not read).
