Dehn, Lucille Janice (Marriage = 7 Jun. 1946)

Miss Lucille Janice Dehn, daughter of Mrs. E. M. Dehn, Unity, exchanged nuptial vows with Glen John Frome, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Frome, Colby, before an altar banked with lighted candelabra and baskets of lilies of the valley, iris, bleeding hearts and bridal wreath. Rev. O. Hoffman officiated at the double ring ceremony on June 7, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Woodrow Tesmer accompanied by his wife sang “Always” at the beginning of the service and completed the ceremony by singing “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Henry Dehn, proceeded down the aisle to the organ strains of “Lobengren” played by Mr. Ervin Lutz. A gown with a lustrous white satin and double net skirt which extended into a long chapel train was chosen by the bride. The long sleeves tapered at the wrist and the net yoke was trimmed with wide dainty lace. Wide lace matching the trim on her dress bordered the frothy veil of illusion which extended into a long cour train. The veil was caught to a matching lace bonnet trimmed with orange blossom clusters. Her gold necklace set with pearls and rubies was a gift from her brother brought from overseas. She carried a bouquet composed of American Beauty roses, lilies-of-the-valley and fern tips.

Miss Joan Dehn, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, wore white Nylon over peach satin. Dainty lace bordered the sweetheart neckline, gathered sleeves, waistline and extended around the bouffant skirt. A bonnet of peach satin edged with nylon ruffles completed her attire. She wore a single-strand pearl necklace and carried a bouquet of white carnations, salmon gladiolas, and fern tips, tied with a white ribbon.

Bridesmaids were Miss Lennice Frome and Mrs. Gordon Mellenthin, sisters of the groom, and Miss Janet Frome, cousin of the groom. They wore dresses identical to the maid-of-honor’s and carried identical bouquets. Their bonnets were white nylon edged with peach satin ruffles. All of them wore pearl necklaces.

Virginia Cook, flower girl, wore a floor length dress of white nylon and white ? styled like the other attendants, and trimmed with lace. She wore a bonnet of white nylon edged with nylon ruffles and a gold ?. Mixed flowers filled the white basket which she carried.

Ronnie Peke, cousin of the bride, carried the rings in a white heart shaped box attached to a peach satin pillow trimmed with white nylon ruffles and white carnations. He wore white trousers and a navy blue jacket.

The groom was attended by Edwin Frome, his brother, acting as best man, Albert and William Dehn, brothers of the bride and Gordon Mellenthin, a brother-in-law. All of the men wore navy blue suits and carnations as boutonnieres.

Roger Dale Ertl, Orville Rex and Billy Frome fulfilled their duties as ushers.

Both mothers attended the wedding in watermelon red dresses set off with ? accessories. They wore shoulder corsages composed of carnations and ferns.

After the ceremony a dinner for approximately 125 guests was served at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Unity. Vases and baskets of mixed flowers, pink and white streamers and lighted candelabra decorated the church parlors. A three-tier wedding cake was topped with a miniature dove which was used on the groom’s mother’s wedding cake. Later in the evening a dance was given at Weidenhoefts and a midnight buffet supper was served at the home of the bride.

The bride was a graduate of Whitewater Teachers College and has taught for the past four years at Shawano and Antigo.

Out-of-town guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dehn, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zuehlke, Mrs. Louis Moede, Bonduel; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Peke and Ronnie, Rochester, Minn.; Miss Mary Dehn and Miss Myrtle Sommers, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dehn, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kohl, Carol Wunrow and Nora Severns, Antigo.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
