Obit: Kindt, Fredericka (1851 – 1938)

Sat., 3 Dec. 1938 -Kindt, Fredericka (31 Jan. 1851 – 25 Nov. 1938) Mrs. Gustav Kindt, a pioneer resident of this village, died in Milwaukee last Friday, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 24 days, the infirmities of age being the cause of death. Fredericka Kindt, nee Trauheim was born in Germany, Jan. 31st, 1851. She grew to young womanhood in her home community in Prussia, and in the year 1869, was united in marriage with Gustav Kindt, a neighbor young man. Soon after their marriage her husband was called for military service in the Franco Prussian War, in which he won distinguished medals for bravery. The family, husband, wife and one child, emigrated to American in 1872, living for a while in New York, and moved to Humbird in 1873. Here the home was established in which she raised her family of three sons and two daughters. April 7, 1906, death came to the husband and father. She left Humbird upon the death of her husband, and has resided in Milwaukee with her son, Otto H. Kindt, until her death Nov. 25th, 1938. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Albert and Charles. Surviving the death of their aged mother are one son, Otto H. Kindt, of Milwaukee; and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Fisher, of Oconto, Wis., and Mrs. Julia Johnson, of Butte, Mont. There are also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kindt was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and funeral services were held under that denomination in Milwaukee Sunday afternoon. The remains were brought here for burial Monday forenoon, services at Kretschmer’s parlors and at the grave in Mentor Cemetery being conducted by Rev. V. D. Weidler, pastor of St. John’s Church. Relatives coming to attend the burial services were: Otto H. Kindt, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Kindt, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Kindt, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Niedermeier, of Wauwatosa; and Mrs. Edith Fisher, of Oconto. |
