Karow, Margaret H. (Marriage – 7 Nov. 1939)

At the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon Nov. 7, 1939, Miss Margaret H. Karow, became the bride of Jacob Hefty, Jr., in a beautiful and impressive double ring ceremony, performed by Rev. O. List, pastor of the church.

As Miss Erna Proehl, played Lohengrin’s wedding march, the bridal party entered the church. The bride and groom were preceded by their attendants. When they had taken their places before the altar, Miss Clara List sang “Where Thou Goest,” by H. Hahn. This was followed by scripture reading, a short sermon, and the marriage ceremony.

This bride was beautiful in a floor length gown of white satin, trimmed with lace and cut princess style with long pointed tight fitting sleeves. Her very long net veil edged with lace was arranged cap shape with a coronet of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of Briar Cliff roses and white chrysanthemums.

Her bridesmaids were Miss Sylvia Hefty, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Leonard Korkoski, of Mason City, Iowa, cousin of the bride.

The groom wore a blue suit and a white carnation boutonniere. He was attended by his brother, Fred Hefty, and Lloyd Karow, cousin of the bride.

A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to about 60 guests. In the evening, the newly weds entertained their many friends and relatives at a wedding dance at the K. of P. Hall.

The newly weds left Wednesday on a honeymoon trip to southern Wisconsin and Iowa. Upon their returned they will make their home with the bride’s parents. From the Augusta Union.

The groom of this happy wedding is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hefty, of Cleveland. He is employed as cream handler by the Russells Corners Creamery Co.
