Salter, Evelyn Carol (Marriage - 29 Jun. 1947)

Miss Evelyn Carol Salter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Salter, Unity, became the bride of Benjamin William Brill, son of Mrs. Mary Brill, Colby, Saturday afternoon at 2:15 o’clock in a double ring ceremony performed in Wausau.

Attending the couple were Mrs. Victor Thiel, Wausau, sister of the groom and Stewart Salter, West Bend, Wis., brother of the bride.

The bride was attired in a smart linen suit accented with a red rose corsage and completed with white accessories and white hat and veil.

Mrs. Thiel wore a white dress with red accessories and had a corsage of mixed sweet peas and carnations.

Immediate relatives were served a potluck dinner at the home of the bride’s parents with a reception for 40 guests after 7 o’clock. The bride’s mother greeted the guests wearing a powder blue suit and the groom’s mother a flowered silk dress. Cut flowers decorated the home.

The couple, after a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, left Tuesday for Vancouver, Washington where the bride has been appointed occupational therapist at the Veterans Hospital. She is a graduate of the Unity High School with the class of 1941 and of the Milwaukee State Teachers College art course in 1945 and Milwaukee Downer College in 1946. The groom, a graduate of the Colby High School, was in service in the Pacific Area for 4 ˝ years.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Salter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanhil, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Salter and daughter of Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Huegel and son, John, Milwaukee; Mrs. Wm. Ihlenfeldt and daughter Karen Marie, Port Huron, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Salter and family, West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Thiel and daughter Nancy, Mrs. Irene Lynn and Miss June Lynn, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Salter, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. James Colby and son Bert, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Felix Dietrich, Eau Claire; Mrs. Mary Brill and son Matty and daughter Shirley, Mrs. Rose Brill and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Brill, Colby; the Misses Pearl and Gladys Salter, Prentice; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Salter, Maxine, Betty and Sally, of Unity.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
