At ten-thirty p.m. Wednesday, August 20th at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Ione Joyne Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. W. Morgan, Unity, and Norman W. Luchterhand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Luchterhand, Marshfield. The Rev. J. A. Olson performed the double ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Lucille Ringquist, Unity, sister of the bride, sang “I Love You Truly” at the beginning of the ceremony and “Always” at the end of the service.

The bride chose a princess style gown of white slipper satin with lace inserts starting at the waist and ending with the long train. The dress was designed with a sweetheart neckline and white satin rosebuds. The sleeves ended in a long point over the wrists. Her long veil of illusion was draped from a beaded tiara of sweetheart design and was edged with two rows of lace. The bride carried a shower bouquet of red roses edged with white lilies tied with a white satin ribbon.

As a gift from the groom and for something blue the bride wore a heart shaped locket and earrings, identically styled, centered with a blue sapphire surrounded by rhinestones. For something old the bride wore a dime in her slipper and for something borrowed she carried a white lace handkerchief.

The bride chose her niece, Miss Jeanette Ringquist, Unity, to be her maid of honor. She was attired in a white taffeta dress with a tight bodice, peplum and a full skirt. She wore a hat of sweetheart design and elbow length, white lace gloves. Her bouquet was red carnations tied with white satin. Miss Margie Luchterhand of Marshfield, sister of the groom, and Mrs. LeRoy Morgan, Cleveland, sister-in-law of the bride, were the bridesmaids. They wore identical styled gowns of yellow and aqua ninon over taffeta, respectively. The bodices were shirted and the skirts were bouffant. Their hats and gloves were identical to the maid of honor and matched their dresses. They carried bouquets of yellow gladiolas and white asters. The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore single strand pearls which were gifts from the bride.

Robert Luchterhand, Spencer, a cousin of the groom, was best man. James Krasselt, Spencer, also a cousin of the groom, and Richard Allar, Unity, attended the groom. The groom and his attendants wore brown chalk-striped suits and yellow carnation boutonnieres.

Dennis Miller, Unity, carried the rings on a white satin calla lily. Charles Anderson, Thorp, cousin of the bride, and Harold Hendrick, Loyal, cousin of the groom, ushered.

Both the bride and the groom’s mothers chose black dresses and wore corsages of pink roses.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at 5:00 p.m. at the church parlor for 80 guests. White, aqua and yellow streamers centered with a white wedding bell was canopied over the wedding table. A three-tier wedding cake with a miniature bride and groom and lighted candles formed the centerpiece at the table. A wedding dance was held at the Eagles Hall in Marshfield.

After a two weeks honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Luchterhand will live west of Marshfield where the groom is engaged in farming. The bride graduated from the Unity High School in 1940 and Central State Teachers College in 1942. She taught school for the past five years in Clark County, last year as principal of the Riplinger State Graded School.
