Surnames: SCHMITT FUCHS KOPPA HIBSCH FUCHSGRUBER Source: WEEKLY CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 04/28/1933 Schmitt, John & Margaret (Gold – 29 APR 1933) Mr. and Mrs. John Schmitt will be the happy recipients of many congratulations and tokens of esteem Saturday when they will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The anniversary will be celebrated with an eight o’clock mass at the St. Louis Catholic Church Saturday morning with Father Paul Pitzenberger officiating. The day will be spent quietly and a wedding dinner will be served at 6 o’clock to the immediate family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.V. Hiebsch. The Schmitts were married at Marathon City, Wis., April 29th, 1883, and made their first home at Rozelville. Mrs. Schmitt was the former Miss Margaret Fuchs, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fuchs, of Sheboygan County. Mr. Schmitt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schmitt of Outagamie County. The Schmitt’s left Rozelville in 1888 for Marshfield. A few years later they moved to Medford and about 1897 they moved to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.). In 1902 the Schmitt’s left for Marshfield, where they lived until 1912, when Mr. Schmitt became the Sheriff of Wood County and they moved to Wis. Rapids. In 1914 they returned to Dorchester, where they have resided since. Their four children, Mrs. H. Koppa of Flint, Mich., Mrs. F.V. Hiebsch, Mrs. E.J. Fuchsgruber, and Miss ?illie, all of Dorchester, will be present for the golden anniversary celebration. Four of their six grandchildren will be present for the celebration. The grandchildren are Misses ?ath and Bertha Hiebsch, Gretchen, ?ath and Dawn Fuchsgruber, and Dorothy Koppa. To Dorchester people, the Schmitts are a necessary part of the village. In their many years here they have endeared themselves to everyone. The genial kindness of Mr. Schmitt and the sweet, lovable qualities of Mrs. Schmitt have brought them a host of friends who will be happy to offer the Schmitts their sincerest congratulations on their golden wedding anniversary. The Clarion joins with their many friends in wishing the Schmitts many more years of peace and happiness together and congratulating them on their arrival at the 50th anniversary. |
