-Pelnar, Virginia Jean (Marriage 10 Nov. 1945)

Miss Virginia Jean Pelnar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pelnar of Milwaukee, and Donald Joseph Allain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allain of Unity, were united in marriage in a ceremony performed in St. John De Nepomuc church in Milwaukee at 9 a.m. Nov. 10, the Rev. William Zelibapka in charge of the nuptial ceremony. Long stemmed bouquets of white, yellow and rust colored chrysanthemums decorated the altar for the High Mass. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gold dressmaker suit with which she wore brown accessories and a brown hat trimmed in gold. A cluster of yellow roses was pinned to her shoulder, and she carried a prayerbook, a gift of her aunt, Marian Pelnar. Her cousin, Miss Jane Bergen of Menominee, Mich., in a pine green taileur and brown accessories, was maid of honor. Pink and white roses made up her corsage. Chester Reeves of Milwaukee served as best man.

Following the ceremony the immediate relatives of the bridal couple were entertained at dinner at the Hotel Pfister and later a reception was held at the Pelnar home. For traveling the bride chose an olive green suit, a stone martin fur coat and hat and matching muff. When Mr. and Mrs. Allain return home from their honeymoon they will reside in Milwaukee. Mr. Allain was granted a recent discharge from Navy service.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allain and daughters, Kathleen, Margie and Evonna of Unity; Mrs. David Lutz of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bergen and June and Evelyn Bergen, Ralph Franck of Menominee, Mich.; Marilynn Dix, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker of Chicago; Katherine Hill of Dixon, Ill.; Mrs. Avery Baker, Mary, Adena and Helen Baker of Marinette; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. Careau of Milwaukee.
