Bell, Josephine (Marriage – 27 Oct. 1936)

Tuesday morning, at nine o’clock a wedding took place at St. Joseph’s church, Fairview, at which Miss Josephine Bell became the bride of Mr. August Kaufman. The impressive double ring ceremony of the Catholic Church was read by the Rev. J. J. Sheridan. The bride was attired in a gray suit trimmed with fur, and wore dark green accessories, with a shoulder bouquet of talisman roses. The bride was attended by Miss Rose Kaufman, sister of the groom, who was attired in a gown of brick red crepe with a shoulder bouquet of white carnations and fern. A cousin Mr. La Vern Kaufman attended the groom, who wore a suit of dark blue, while his best man wore brown. Both wore white carnations lapels.

The wedding party, and over fifty intimate friends, went from the church to the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bell, where they partook of a bounteous wedding feast, prepared by Mmes, Anderson, Flynn and Sparkes, and served by Misses Flynn, Pierce and Traschsel.

A reception in honor of the happy young couple was held at the home of the groom in the evening, at which they received many beautiful gifts from a host of friends who fathered to wish them happiness. A midnight lunch was served by the groom’s sister, Miss Rose Kaufman.

Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman will make their home on the groom’s farm in Fairview.
