The choir of Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer sang during the nuptial rites performed there Saturday, September 10 at 8 o’clock A.M. by the Rev. Nicholas Beschta, Colby, for Miss Betty Ann Ringquist, Spencer, and Raymond Potter, Wisconsin Rapids.

The couple, whose parents are the Earl Ringquists and Homer Potters, all of Spencer, exchanged vows at the altar, which was attractively adorned with bouquets of garden flowers.

Attending the bride were the Misses Mary Jane Potter, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, Velda Pipkorn, Wisconsin, and Yvonne Ringquist, Spencer, sister of the bride, as junior bridesmaid. William McKenna, Greenwood, served his cousin as best man, while Alvin Ringquist, Spencer, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

The bride’s traditional white satin gown was designed with a sweetheart neckline, snug bodice and gathered skirt entrain. Her lace bordered finger tip veil fell from a pretty beaded headdress and she carried a bouquet of yellow and rust roses and mums. Her father gave her away.

Yellow taffeta fashioned the gown of the maid of honor, who carried yellow roses and white asters. The bridesmaid was in lavender taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink roses and the junior bridesmaid wore white taffeta, her gown styled like those of the other aides. She held a bouquet like the bride’s. All wore attractive sweetheart bonnets.

Mrs. Ringquist wore for her daughter’s wedding a turquoise dress accented with a corsage of yellow and pink roses. She was ushered to her place by Robert Potter.

Garden flowers and white, yellow and lavender streamers and white wedding bells decorated the bride’s parents’ home, where the wedding breakfast was served the bridal party and where the reception was held for 75 guests in the afternoon.

After a honeymoon at Grand Marais, Minn., the couple will reside at 360 N. Eighteenth Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, where the groom is employed at the Consolidated Paper Mill.
