Dorchester – 24 Nov. 1882

Editors Times: Winter has at last arrived and every body is full of business. The trains are loaded with men going into camp and indications are good for a large, harvest of logs.

Rev. Patch of Stevens Point was with us on the Sabbath. A church was organized and several persons united with it. It is to be known as The First Presbyterian Church of Dorchester. E. L. Swarthout, Edgar Foster and Chester Norton, trustees. Success to it.

We have a circulating Library started, with Henry La Bossier as president. Considerable money has been subscribed with which to purchase books.

School closed on Friday last for a two week’s vacation. Edgar Foster, principal, is sojourning at Neillsville. Miss May Ormes, assistant, is spending her vacation in Portage, Wis.

School closes in the southern part of the district today. Miss Eva Bursell, teacher.

Mrs. Aug. Homstead visited Unity, her former home, last week.

G. V. Bramble meditates removing his family to Phillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hobson spent Sunday in town, guests of Wm. Latham.

Mrs. E. H. Winchester and little Lela visited friends up the line last week, returning home on Saturday.

The Doctor and his best girl had a sleigh ride last evening. “Richard is himself again.”

J. E. Bursell is building a work shop on his lot on Main Street. He intends putting up the chambers for a Good Templar’s hall.

Mr. J. Boulais has his fine residence advertised for sale. It is a very desirable piece of property, and it is offered exceedingly cheap.

Davy.
