News: Loyal (19 June 1883) Surnames: Graves, Priest, Lervy, Schmitz, Weisner, Hallock, Picket, Flaherty, Gwin, Weaver, Welsh, Holliday Source: Neillsville Times (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 19 June 1883 Loyal – 13 June 1883 Our village school closes the summer term on Friday of this week. Mrs. D. Graves retuned to Spencer yesterday. Mr. D. Graves and the shoemaker have been making more new board fence. Mr. Priest, of Spencer, made his appearance in town on Monday, the bearer of a telegram for Mrs. Priest, stating that their daughter, Mrs. Lervy, of Thorp, is very sick, and requesting her mother to come to her immediately. Messrs. Schmitz and Weisner of Milwaukee are at the hotel. Norm. Hallock has returned from Ashland to cook in Jacques & Foley’s camp. Dr. Picket was in town yesterday looking after his patients. They would be glad to see him oftener. The Holliday brothers are clearing up their farm east of the Dodgeville school house in good shape, and west of the school house of the piece of land known as Dug. Welsh’s chopping, has been logged, fenced, and a good log house built on it. Further on toward Loyal, considerable improvement has been made by C. Flaherty, E. Weaver, and P.
