Fahlgren, Phyllis B. (Marriage - 30 Sept. 1950)

Miss Phyllis B. Fahlgren, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Fahlgren, and Charles Phillip Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Burt, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon, September 30, at 4 o’clock in the Methodist Church at Ladysmith. The double ring ceremony was performed by the bride’s father before an altar banked with large baskets of gladioli and chrysanthemums. At either side of the altar were candlebra which were lighted by the ushers, John Fahlgren, brother of the bride, and Lyle Fuller, cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Peterson played the organ music and accompanied Mrs. Rosemary Van Dorn, of Tony, who sang “Thru The Years” and “O Perfect Love.”

The bride was escorted down the white carpeted aisle by her uncle, Rodney D. Fuller. She was preceded by Mary Fahlgren, as maid of honor, and Marge Fuller, as bridesmaid.

The bride was gowned in a slipper satin gown with fitted bodice styled with a lace yoke and short sleeves under which were matching satin gauntlets. Her fingertip veil of net was edged with lace and caught to a halo of pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of gladioli and mums. The pearl necklace worn was a gift of the groom.

Her attendants were gowned in identical taffeta gowns of orchid and aqua which were fashioned similar to the bride’s gown. They wore matching mitts and carried colonial bouquets and wore necklaces, gifts of the bride.

The groom was attended by Tom Burt, his brother, as the best man and James Armstrong.

A reception was held in the church parlors for 200 guests and was in charge of the women of the church. A four tiered wedding cake centered the reception table and after the first piece of cake was cut by the newlyweds, Mrs. C. P. Olson, aunt of the bride, assisted with the serving.

The bride wore a green tweed suit when they left for a honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin. The couple will reside at 200 ½ E. Lindow St., Ladysmith.

The bride graduated from the Neillsville High School and is employed as a secretary at the Hinshaw Shoe Co. The groom graduated from Ladysmith High School and attended Hamline University. He is employed at the Burt Print Shop in Ladysmith.

Among the guests were her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fuller, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Fuller and son Mark, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Fuller, Lyle Jr., and Marge, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Olson, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne J. Fuller, Janesville.
