Loyal – 26 Oct. 1883

An other wedding! On Tuesday evening, Norman Hallock and Miss Tillie Shoupe were married by Harry Philpott. The guest had a pleasant time and the presents given to the bride were nice.

Miss Alice Chesterman begins her winter school next Monday. She is to teach where she taught last summer, in the Romane district. We fear her music scholars will get but few lesions after her school begins.

Rev. M. Fulmer is yet in these parts, a perfect terror to the deer while playing the part of sportsman.

Mrs. J. C. Gwin and Mrs. Priest braved the rough roads and visited Spencer this week.

A German, father-in-law to our artist, living southeast from this village was accidently shot by his son, a few days ago. It seems the gun did not go off readily, and the old gentleman called his son to him and primed the gun, the boy started in haste to shoot at a squirrel, the gun went off prematurely and lodged the load in his father’s hip or thigh. He is being treated by Dr. Mulvey.

Mr. Balch of Neillsville was in town Wednesday visiting Dr. Mulvey.

Geo. L. Jacques of Neillsville was on our streets more or less, for two or three days this week.

*Rest cut off.**
