Brock – In Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 26, 1884, Emi Brock, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Brock, of Neillsville, Wis., aged 20 years, 5 months and 8 days, of consumption. Funeral held from the residence of the parents in this city, Nov. 29, 1884, Rev. W. T. Hendren officiating.

Emi Brock lived in Clark County almost continuously from early childhood. His father, A. J. Brock, is one of the old residents of Black River and is well known to all the older residents of the county. Emi has been troubled with his lungs for about two years. The disease was aggravated about a year ago by a cold caught while the family were moving from Spencer to this place and still more aggravated by an additional cold caught in a visit to Thomas Chadwick’s a couple of weeks later. At the opening of spring last season he began to get out of doors and the condition of his health seemed too improved during the summer. But with the return of cold weather this fall his sickness became more serious and about two weeks ago his mother started with him to Georgia, thinking that the warmer climate there might prove beneficial. But hardly had they arrived there than his trouble ***rest cut off. ***
