Jordahl, Agnes “Aggie” Leila (April 1, 1925 - May 13, 2007)

Agnes L. Jordahl, 82, of Clermont, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2007 at the Westminster Care of Clermont nursing home.

Agnes “Aggie” Leila (Siren) Jordahl was born on April 1, 1925, in Osage, MN, the daughter of Alexander and Lydia Siren. She grew up on the family farm near Detroit Lakes and upon graduation from high school; she attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for two years. In 1947, she married Charles Jordahl and shortly thereafter they moved to Duluth, Minnesota, where Aggie worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. In 1950 they moved to Eau Claire and in 1951 they moved to Neillsville. Aggie was a home-maker until 1966 when she opened a shoe store, The Bootery, which she operated until 1969. When Charles retired in 1972, they began spending their winters in Florida and moved there permanently in 2003.

While living in Neillsville, Aggie enjoyed many activities with family and friends. She was active in bowling leagues, golf leagues, bridge clubs, and for several years taught Sunday School at Calvary Lutheran Church. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, golfing, and socializing with friends, but her true love was enjoying the serenity of summers at the family home at Lake Arbutus.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Jordahl, of Clermont, FL; a son, Bernie (Marge) Jordahl, of St. Cloud, MN; a granddaughter, Lisa Jordahl, of Stillwater, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Aggie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jordahl; her parents, Alexander and Lydia Siren; three brothers, Ray, Charlie, and Richard; and four sisters, Martha, Ellen, Rose, and Irene.

Following cremation, interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be held in Neillsville at a later date.
