Budzynski, Constance (12 DEC 1869 – 16 SEP 1936)

One of our pioneers in the early settlement of this vicinity has departed to the great beyond, called by her Maker, from whence no man returns. The personage of Constance Budzynski taken for his own by the grim reaper, was in her 67th year of life upon this universe. Sixty-seven years of eventful life with its pang of misery; its bounty of happiness; but denied the reward to enjoy the fruits of her labor in the sudden end to her life’s journey. Sudden, we say, ever mindful of the respect for those aged who have braved the elements of nature, the struggles for existence in blazing a trail for future generations to enjoy an easier life, when to those pioneers belong the reward of their achievements.

Born Dec. 12, 1869, near Posen, Poland, Constance Delkoski migrated to America at the age of 12, with her mother, brother and sister, arriving in St. Paul in 1882, amid that immigratory period the immediate family perceived the truth of that old adage: “the land of milk and hone.” In 1888, Constance Delkoski and Vincent Budzynski were united through the holy bonds of matrimony and three years later in 1891 they arrived in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Hospital commitment followed with her last request to repose at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl Soderberg of Thorp. One week later, on Friday, Sept. 16, 1936, in the evening, at 6:30 p.m., Mrs. Budzynski’s life was stilled forever.

Funeral services followed from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. V. S. Urban, of St. Paul at St. Adalbert’s Church, Father Roy officiating, on Monday with interment in the family lot in Cavalry Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Frank Urban, Roy Urban, Joe Delkoski, Ted Clark and Joe Yerke.

The wife and mother is survived by her husband, five daughters and two sons, as follows: Vincent Budzynski of Gilman; Mrs. Mary Urban of St. Paul; Mrs. Bernice Slota of Minneapolis, Anna of St. Paul; Mrs. Lucille Gerken, Highland Park, Ill.; John of Ashland, Wis.; Mrs. Pearl Soderberg of Thorp; and Francis. Also one sister, Mrs. Frances Neiman of Turtle Lake, Wis., and one brother, Martin Delkoski of St. Paul.
