Polnaszek, Paul (29 JUN 1862 – 15 NOV 1936)

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.A. Kulig at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at ten o’clock Tuesday morning for Paul Polnaszek, aged farmer of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls, on Sunday last, he having been a patient there for the past nine weeks with cancer.

Mr. Polnaszek was born in Poland on June 29, 1862 and had reached the age of 74 years, 4 months and 14 days. He came to America in 1874 at the age of twelve and located at Lemont, Ill., where he met and was united in marriage with Miss Jadwiga Kabera in 1889. He came to thorp with his wife and family in 1890 and settled on a farm in the township of Withee. This has been his home for the past forty-six years, but ill health for several years prevented him from active farm work.

He was active in public as well as farm co-operatives, served in the capacity of town chairman, school clerk and was the founder of the Lombard Dairy Company.

Deceased leaves to mourn, his wife and seven children, four sons, John of Minneapolis, Peter of Chicago and Thomas and Frank, Thorp; three daughters, Mrs. Jos. (Julia) Kobylarczyk, Thorp, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Strzok, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Nick (Jennie) Strzok, Gilman.

The body of the deceased was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Church Cemetery, pallbearers being six grandsons, Louis and Thomas Kobylarczyk, Leon, Daniel, Edward and George Polnaszek.

Those from out of town here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Polnaszek and son Roger, Chicago; John Polnaszek and two sons, Leo and Daniel of Minneapolis; Mrs. Marlin Chaplinski, Chicago; Misses Pauline and Josephine Kobylarczyk, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Strzok, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown, Ed Brown, Mrs. A Sharkey, Mrs. A.S. Brown, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kabera of Pulaski, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Kabera of Sobieski, Wis.
