Surnames: CRANE ELLERMAN GRENG JOHNSTON MEYER NOTBOHM STUMP TREAT WING Source: THE TRIBUNE-PHONOGRAPH (Clark County, Wis.) Vol. 47, No. 22, p. 4 Wednesday, 05/30/2007 Business Men Are Making Progress It is of very great interest to the people of Abbotsford to find that their businessmen are improving their buildings and locations this year. The buildings on our main street can stand some very great improvements, especially the North end of Main Street. However, all in all, we have a village we can be proud of. During the past month the interior and exterior of most business places have received some improvements. At Grengs Motor Sales and Service Garage, a sign of extensive size appearing on the front of the building has been added, this giving those passing by a better knowledge of the business occupying that building. At Wing’s Drug Store new curtains have been placed on the front windows, and new show cases have been added to take care of a growing business. Meyer’s store front is now under repairs. At the Abbotsford Tire Repairing Shop, a new lawn has been seeded down to make the appearance about the filling station more inviting. Stump has moved into the Ellerman building and by so doing has filled up a vacancy that has been a sore eye to our town since Mr. Ellerman moved out himself. At the Meat Market, a fine ammonia icing machine has been installed to give better service and fresher meat to a business that has been on the gain right along. Al Notbohm this spring added a new fresh color to his sign in front of his office. The Harry Treat building and the office of Dr. Johnston were redecorated inside. E. J. Crane built a new warehouse to take care of the fine business he has built up through his slogan, “Trade with us and we will save you money-It pays to pay cash.” |
