Kramer, Fred (19 FEB 1855 – 12 SEP 1935)

Funeral services for Fred Kramer were held Monday afternoon at the home of his son, Anton, in the town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) at 1:30 and at the Christ Lutheran Church at Abbotsford at 2 o’clock with the Rev. John Brandt officiating. Mr. Kramer died a the Marshfield Hospital last Thursday afternoon after a brief illness. Death was due to dropsy.

Interment took place a the town of Holton Cemetery with Edwin and Herbert Jacobi, Helmuth Wirth, Hans Amacher, Nicholas Webbin and Edward Hoeft acting as pallbearers.

Fred Kramer was born in Saxony, Germany, Feb. 19, 1855 and was eighty years, six months and twenty-three days old at time of death. He came to the United States in 1872 at the age of 17 and about fifty years ago settle on his farm five miles northeast of Abbotsford where he resided until fifteen years ago when he moved to Abbotsford. He married at Oshkosh in 1884 to Miss Wilhelmina Marzh, who passed away in 1920.

He is survived by four children, a daughter, Mrs. Herman Johnson of the town of Holton, three sons, Anton and Richard in the town of Holton, and Ernest in the town of Johnson, two brothers, Albert of Neenah and Reinhold of Oshkosh, and fourteen grandchildren.

Well known by his activity and pleasing nature, Mr. Kramer leaves a host of friends who join us in offering sincerest sympathy to the mourning ones.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kramer, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kramer, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kramer and son, Douglas, of Neenah, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Kramer, Mrs. Herman Oberg and daughter, and Mrs. Crystal Kramer of Oshkosh.
