Surnames: BROWN COLLINS BUTLER ZANK CESFSKY WAVRUNEK ---Source: Town of Butler History Collection Collins, Ray Capp and Georgia (Brown) Collins, married 1910, came from Indiana. Georgia still lives here in Butler. The butlers came from Pennsylvania, first lived in Nelson, then in Augusta, then moved to town of Foster. Ray’s great-grandfather George purchased Ray a farm in 1892. It has been in the family for over 100 years – red house on Dickerson and MM, where William originally lived on 80 acres. Kitty corner, Ike Butler lived on 40 acres. Where La Flex farm is formerly belonged to Dave Butler, which was a 40 acre farm. Grandmother Collins live on an 80. When she died, Ray’s parents took it over. Ray’s mother split the land and sold half to William across the road. His dad owned 40 acres across the road, of which 20 acres was his mother’s. His dad bought another 40 acres. Ray added Reineke’s land so it is now 180 acres. Ray took full ownership in 1972. Ray has 3 sisters, Margaret Zank, deceased, from Washington state; Nancy Cesafsky, Eau Claire; Edna Wavrunek of Neillsville, decease. |
