Mr. Joe Sterling, of the Sterling Mill Co., has taken John Miley’s place as general woodsman for the Eau Claire Lumber Co.

Mrs. M. McGrogan, of this village, breathed her last on Thursday. Her death was caused by an attack of inflammation of the lungs. She is the mother of six children, the youngest being only a few days old. Her husband and family have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole village.

The Courier’s patrons are anxious to know the cause of the editor’s periodical visits to Colby every week. It is whispered by some that judging from the manner in which he sometime gazes into vacancy, he contemplates matrimony. He has the portrait of a buxom, blooming damsel over the press, which is greatly admired by all. If the editors *Rest cut off. **
