Broeske, Clyde (21 Apr 1926 – 08 Jul 2007)

Clyde Broeske, 81, Abbotsford, died at his home on Sunday, July 8th, 2007.

Funeral services were held on July 10th, at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. Burial was in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. The Reverend Dr. Paul Hunsicker presided.

Pallbearers were Shane, Kayleigh, Shayla and Nicolette Broeske, Kelly Wiedenbeck, Stacey Remus, Krista Krause, Julie Lefler, Jenny Sarnecki, Landon, Laron and Lonnie Marcott, Michael and Amanda Ludwig.

Clyde was born April 21st, 1926, to Elroy and Emma (Behring) Broeske in the Town of Mayville. He graduated form Abbotsford High School in 1943.

He and Carmen Schultz were married on May 17th, 1947. They owned and operated a four generation century farm in the Town of Mayville for 50 plus years. They resided there until 2005 and moved to the city of Abbotsford in 2006.

Clyde served as an elder of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester and later becoming a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. He continued his leadership as Circuit #10 leader Lutheran Church Extension Fund, later as Congregational Representative and elder and played on dart ball teams on both congregations.

He enjoyed farming, snowmobiling, square dancing, woodworking and playing cards. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Clyde was also a member of the Abbotsford Sportsman’s Club.

He is survived by his wife Carmen, Abbotsford; his children, Judith (Gary) Jicinsky, Marshfield, Susan (Dennis) Brost, Oak Creek, Larry (Marilyn) Broeske, Arkdale, Gale (Lenis) Marcott, Abbotsford, Bryon (Tammy) Broeske, Dorchester and Diane (Terry) Ludwig, Dorchester; fourteen grandchildren seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Broeske, CA and Marvin (Kay) Broeske, Abbotsford and one sister, Dorothy Greunke, Fond du Lac.

Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or Hospice Home Care.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
