Reuben T. Lueloff Married in Kenosha

Marjorie Kaltenbach, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L. E. Kaltenbach of Kenosha, broke a time worn tradition when she was married Saturday evening at her parents’ home to Reuben Lueloff of Chicago. As she walked down the stairway to the living room, where the ceremony took place, the guests heard not the old familiar strains of the wedding march from “Lohenfirin” but the charming refreshing notes of a melody new to weddings, a Chopin nocturne.

Lighted candles in many branched candelabra shone among the white roses and white chrysanthemums that banked the fireplace where Miss Kaltenbach and Mr. Lueloff exchanged wedding vows. The service was read by the Rev. Kenneth Dr. Martin of St. Matthew’s Episcopal church at 7:30 p.m.

The conventional long tulle veil was missing too, in Miss Kaltenbach’s bridal costume. She wore instead a hip length tulle veil with a pleated ruffle. From the simple tulle cap, caught with a chin strap, a short veil fell over the bride’s face. This face veil was thrown back after the ceremony when the young people greeted their friends at an open house in the Kaltenbach home.

The bride wore a gown of white satin fashioned with sleeves that were pulled at the shoulder and tight from the elbow to wrist, a high front neckline and a slashed back caught with white pearl buttons, Miss Kaltenbach had dispensed too, with the conventional bridal bouquet, and carried in its place a white kid prayer book with a spray of gardenias as a book mark.

A real lace flesh colored gown was worn by Miss Mary Lou Kaltenbach, the bride’s only attendant. It had the new high front neckline and elbow length sleeves edged with ruffles. A sash of powder blue satin cascaded down the back like a miniature train. In her arms Miss Kaltenbach carried Johanna Hill roses tied with powder blue ribbons.

For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Kaltenbach wore a pink chiffon gown and lavender orchids. Mrs. T. Lueloff of Colby, Wis., mother of the bridegroom, was gowned in black velvet. She also wore orchids. – Milwaukee Journal.
