BioM: Felker, Alberta (1934) Surnames: FELKER UMHOEFER DORRENGACH NILSSEN SAMMARTINI ---Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 09/06/1934 Felker, Alberta (Marriage – 4 Aug. 1934) A wedding of interest to Colby people took place at Marshfield on the anniversary of the marriage of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Felker, Miss Alberta Felker Tuesday became the bride of Ivo Umhoefer, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Umhoefer. The marriage high mass was celebrated at nine o’clock Tuesday by the Rev. A. J. Dorrengach pastor of St. John the Baptist church. Two standards of white lilies on either side of the sanctuary decorated the altar. Mrs. H. K. Nilssen of Duluth, Minn., a cousin of the bride, played the wedding march and the male chorus was directed by Lloyd K. Felker. Solo violin music, Canto Amoroso by Sammartini, was played during the offeratory by Mr. Felker. The bride, in ivory velvet modeled on simple lines with a brief train, approached the altar on the arm of her father. She wore a rolled velvet toque with a tiny face veil, and carried a cluster of gardenias and lilies of the valley. The bride’s only attendant, Miss Mary Umhoefer of Colby, wore French blue chiffon velvet and a large matching hat with a scalloped brim. Pat Felker, of Stevens Point, brother of the bride, was the groom’s best man. Ushering were Dick Umhoefer and Andrew Felker. Breakfast at the Hotel Charles was served for relatives and intimate friends of the bride and groom. The bride is a graduate of the College of St. Theresa at Winona, Minn., class of ’32 and the groom attended St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minn., and was graduated from Notre Dame University in ’32. Mr. and Mrs. Umhoefer will motor through Canada, visiting Montreal and Quebec, returning through the east. |
