Mr. Walter Slowiak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Slowiak of Stanley, and Miss Catherine Cukla, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cukla of the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage by Rev. F.A. Kulig at nine o’clock Saturday morning at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

John Cukla, brother of the bride, and Miss Julia Slowiak, sister of the groom, acted as best man and bridesmaid. Miss Cukla was attired in a powder blue and peach chiffon dress with large hat to match. Other attending couple were Charles Cukla and Miss Mary Slowiak and Alois Dubicki and Miss Helen Madej. The ladies wore dresses of coral and pink chiffon and green and yellow, with hats to match. Miss Stella Janczycki, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a canary yellow and burnt orange chiffon dress adorned with a large brim off the face hat in color of burnt orange, trimmed with yellow with matching sandals. The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos. Little Arline Cukla, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and dressed in orchid chiffon, carried a large basket of mixed flowers. The bridesmaids carried sprays.

The bride’s gown was a Queen Elizabeth style, made of lace with long train. The veil was of coronation model, eight yards long, and her bouquet was combined of white roses, carnations and sweet peas, bound with white ribbons.

After the ceremony a wedding breakfast and festivities were held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The newlyweds will reside in Chicago where the groom is employed.

Herman, Mr. and Mrs. John Anderschat, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Anderschat, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Slowiak, Misses Ann, Mary and Julia Slowiak, Mr. and Mrs. John Ignaskiak and daughter Elaine, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chuey and daughter Lois, Mrs. Vincent Ciolkosz and daughter Stella, Miss Louis Krych, Frank Blasczyk, Miss Stella Slowiak, Miss Helen Mika and Many more.
